Columbia Crest Winery; well groomed garden, classic chateau, award winning Washington State wine. We especially like the Two Vines Cabernet Sauvignon as a table wine.
Maryhill Museum overlooks the Columbia River. On the former townsite is a tribute to World War I soldiers a replica of Stonehenge. Sam Hill was a railroad tycoon. The museum includes many indian arts and crafts as well as European, Russian and Romanian art.
Enter Mt Rainier park from the Northwest side. Most of visitors to this side of the mountain are locals. Tourists usually visit Paradise on the South side or Sunrise to the East.
Chapel of the Holy Cross. An understudy of Frank Lloyd Wright designed this church. I know that this is not Pacific Northwest but I sure like this photograph.
Claimed to be the longest beach in the world, Long Beach is a great place to ride horse, fly a kite or walk on the boardwalk.
I know a great place to watch the airshow. The Blue Angels fly right overhead. Next year I will bring an audio recorder.
One of the finest operating steam locomotives in the USA. SPS 700 sometimes does an excursion trip to Spokane.
On the way to Mt Rainier, Elbe is the home of the tiny Evangelical Lutheran Church and Mt Rainier Scenic Railroad.
The television series Northern Exposure was filmed in part in Roslyn, WA (Cicely, AK). This is Dr Joel Fleishmann's cabin. It was located some miles away from Roslyn on the Circle 8 Square Dance Ranch. The cabin fell down during a winter storm. It was only a set. Notice there is no chimney.
The fair in Monroe Washington is a real country fair. 4H and FFA kids show their prize animals. I like the All Alaskan Racing Pigs .
Kirkland used to be a great to see and be seen. The recent flood of condominium construction has spoiled the small quality neighborhood feel.
The butterfly exhibit at the Pacific Science center is a great place to visit in the winter time, warm and humid.
Seattle is fortunate to have a Juan Valdez Cafe. The best coffee in the world comes from Colombia. This Juan Valdez retired in 2005.
I made a self-assignment to visit Renton Technical College and create an interesting collection of photos. The equipment was limited to a Nikon 8800 with a tripod. Time was limited to two hours.
