Lighting
- Dark interiors
- Harsh shadows
- Extraneous light is distracting
- Flash reflected in glass
- Too much contrast
- Reflections from shiny floor are okay
- Open the window blinds, let the light in
- Turn on the lights in the room
- Show texture by lighting from the side
Composition
- Part of the subject cropped from photo
- Photographer reflected in the photo
- Leaning walls and cabinets
- Verticals not parallel
- Tilted photo
- If subject is low move camera low
- Do not photograph through car window
- Include the entire tree
Content
- Refrigerator is full of magnets/junk
- Trash cans in driveway
- Trash in driveway
- Cars in driveway
- Toilet seat is up
- Towels not properly hung
- Clean up the mess
- Do not include animals
- Photographer reflected in glass
- Clutter
- Get rid of junk or organize open shelves
- Confusing reflections in glass, mirros or shiny surface
- Turn the ceiling fan off, blades can blur
- Make the water feature work.
- Pool water should be clear. Hire a pool mechanic.
- Take photo of a room with furniture not the furniture in a room
Camera/Processing
- Pixelated photos
- jpeg artifacts
